Tips, Questions and Answers
Q: I’m having trouble keeping up with the match, are there any tips to help?
A: Turn off Return-of-Serve, Rally Length and Rally Shot tracking, these facilites make it harder to keep up with a live match – you could turn them on again, when you have more experience.

Make full use of the default shot outcome options – to record an ‘In’, ‘Out’ or ‘Netted’ serve for example just tap once where the ball lands or hits the net, then immediatly look back at the play, the outcome will be recorded for you. Use Touch-and-Move to record other outcomes, such as Aces or Serve winners.

Lastly, don’t worry about missing the odd serve or point, if you click the Missed Shot or Point option the stats aren’t affected too much.
Q: While tracking what should I do if I miss a point or game but I don’t know who won it?
A: Select Missed Point/Game to ? – even though the score will be wrong the players positions should be correct; when its obvious who won the point or game you missed, then use the Missed Point/Game again to assign it correctly.

A: There are no built-in features for this, but the document here describes a technique for producing reports.
Q: What is meant by the shot outcomes ‘Put-Away’ and ‘Out Off-Net’?
A: The term ‘Put-Away’ is used for example to record a very poor drop-shot or lob – the opponent can easily despatch the poor shot for a winner. In this case it’s the poor shot that is significant, rather than the easy winner. But it’s up to you when tracking if you want to use it. The ball is marked red on diagrams to illustrate that the very poor shot was put-away by the other player.

‘Out Off-Net’ is used to record shots that hit the net and then bounce out – these are often just unlucky so are not counted as unforced errors. They appear gray on diagrams.
Q: I have a new or second device, do I need to buy ProTracker Tennis again?
A: If you have already purchased the app from the Apple AppStore for one device, then you can install it on other iOS devices you own that are linked the the same Apple account, without having to pay again. When you try to purchase it you will be prompted that you already own it, and it should let you install again.

Likewise, if you have acquired a new device, then you don’t need to purchase your apps again. When you sync your new device with a Mac, PC or iCloud all the apps you have on your current device should get installed. The new device must log on when prompted to the same Apple Id as you use on your current device.
